Pat Donnelly Martínez is a lifelong Hudson County resident and retired journalist and communications specialist. Her newspaper career began in 1971 at the Jersey Journal, where she spent more than 25 years. In 1983, she was recruited as the founding editor of the Hoboken Reporter, a weekly newspaper. She then returned to the Jersey Journal, filling a variety of positions including editor of Gold Coast, a weekly publication, and assisting in the development of El Nuevo Hudson, a Spanish language weekly. In 2004, she moved to New Jersey City University, where she worked in communications for the last decade of her career.

Pat’s late husband, Arturo, was the arts and entertainment editor at The Star Ledger. Their children, Nora and Peter, are known to many in the Hoboken community. Nora, a former teacher at the Kaplan Preschool, is Head of Hoboken’s Office of Constituent Services. Peter is the owner of The Drum Den, a music school and drum shop in the Neumann Leathers Building.
