Chip grew up in South Jersey and went to high school in Philadelphia. It was here that he first fell in love with record stores, frequenting the shops in the city so that he and a friend could start a DJ business. Chip graduated from college in 1992 and quickly reunited with that same friend to run their own record store – Tunes.

While looking to expand with another location in the summer of 1995, Chip made the fateful decision to venture north to check out a town called Hoboken. He knew immediately it was where he wanted to be. In December 1995 Tunes opened at 315 Washington Street.

Thirty years have passed since then. Chip and his wife Jennifer moved from Hoboken to Weehawken, and then to Crosswicks, NJ where they raised their two daughters. Chip is looking forward to celebrating Tunes’ 30th anniversary in Hoboken later this year!
