Hank Forrest and his wife arrived in Hoboken when Tom Vezzetti was Mayor in 1987. Hank describes the city as “having plenty of rough edges in those days with lots of traditions still in place but many things were already changing with the promise of many more changes to come. Hoboken had a wonderful small town feel which made it very easy to get involved in the community. There was some conflict between the “born and raised” and newcomers, and both sides had their share of independently-minded, colorful people with lots of stories to share.”
