Talk: “Made in Hoboken: Tales of Inventions with Ties to the Mile-Square City”
September 4, 2018 @ 12:00 am
What do the zipper, Mallomars, stage monitors and steam engines all have in common? They were all New Jersey inventions! Hoboken’s own history springs from the vision of a very inventive family, as Col. John Stevens III and his sons were pioneers in rail and steam engine innovations. Founded by Col. Stevens’ son Edwin, they Stevens Institute of Technology has been a hotbed of innovation over its nearly 150-year history.
On Sunday, Oct. 28, join us at the Hoboken Museum, 1301 Hudson St., at 4 pm for a special lecture by Stevens Director of Technology Commercialization, David Zimmerman: “Made in Hoboken: Tales of Inventions with Ties to the Mile-Square City.”
Admission is $5 for visitors, free for Museum members. Seating is limited, so best to arrive early.
