April Harris grew up in the housing projects of Hoboken. Drawing on her own experience as a child in poverty and the hardships she witnessed, she was determined to help the vulnerable poor. During the arson crisis of 1981, she founded In Jesus Name Charities with the Hoboken Clergy Coalition. As a first hand witness to the impact Hoboken’s four decade transition has had on the lives of the poor, she continues to direct this ministry as an Interfaith effort to this day.
