Artist Talk with Christopher López
January 18, 2023 @ 12:00 am
Join us online Friday, January 20 at 7pm when we livestream an Artist Talk with Christopher López, a Puerto Rican photo-based artist and arts educator who was born in The Bronx and raised between New York and Northern New Jersey. López has two exhibits opening at the Museum on Sunday, January 22, with a reception at 2pm. In the Main Gallery, “The Fires: Hoboken 1978-1982” shines a light on horrific events from Hoboken’s early period of gentrification. “(UN)ERASED,” a companion installation in the Upper Gallery, uses both contemporary and appropriated archival imagery to construct a visual dialogue through collage that evidences the human toll that arson played on mostly migrant communities during that same time period. López will be interviewed by Museum Director Bob Foster.
