Vinyl pocket folder imprinted: Marcus Jewelers, Inc. Official Railroad Watch Inspectors,106 Washington St., Hoboken, N.J., No date, circa 1950s. Oxblood or deep reddish-brown plastic, 3-1/4" high (folded) x 5-7/16" wide. Exterior smooth and no markings. Interior has pocket at the top with the imprinting; clear plastic pocket at bottom.
This advertising novelty may have been intended for practical use by the employees of the Delaware, Lackawanna & Western Railroad such as to hold documents, cards or booklet certifying the repair or calibration of their watches or other time pieces.
