Dial is marked black on white face with outer graduations in inches by eighths of an inch and inner dial in feet up to 25 feet. Measuring wheel reads to 1/32 of an inch. With: original two piece cardboard box with printed label on lid. Product number does not appear on object. It appears in the 42nd edition catalog of 1954. Back of case is engraved "Keuffel & Esser Co., Switzerland." Handle is smooth and does not swivel. Other names for this type of measuring device is opisometer or meilograph. The company offered this item for decades and several different models were available. Keuffel & Esser Co. main office and factories were in Hoboken in the period when this item was made.
