As found printed on page [5]: Hoboken New Jersey 1855-1955, Souvenir booklet from Hoboken Centennial. cf. archive catalog 2001.022.0005. Downed poles (arc lighting and telegraph) can be seen. Caption also notes it was the year the Stevens family built the ferry boat "Bergen" which could be propelled from both ends. It was the first of its type on the Hoboken-New York run. Not credited, but original image is probably from the Historical Picture Collections of the Hoboken Public Library.
