Notes: [ink] Birdie Whilldin [top margin] Act well your part; there all Honor lies. PUBLIC SCHOOL NO. 1, HOBOKEN, N. J. FEMALE DEPARTMENT. [ink[ 2nd [printed] Class. All books, maps, slates, etc., used in this school, belong to the Department of Public Instruction, and are loaned, not given, to the pupils. Particular care should be taken by every scholar to keep the books clean and whole, and slates in good order, that when done with, they may be returned to the teacher. And every pupil who has once been supplied with books, will, in case of their loss or unnecessary injury, be expected to replace them. Books must, in every case, be returned when called for by the teacher, and when the pupil leaves the school. Every pupil who has a book, has a lesson to learn at home. Parents and guardians are requested to aid the teachers in enforcing habits of good order, punctuality, cleanliness, honesty and truth upon the minds of the pupils.
