Refund coupon: Hudson & Manhattan Railroad, New Jersey 5 cent coupon. Sept 2, no year (possibly 1944 to 1951.) Not strictly a transportation ticket, but used in conjunction with a purchased fare which was then a token. Ten cents is the fare stated on the back. Printed paper, two sides, 2-1/16" x 4-11/16" wide; punched as used. Serial number C 207239. Printed by Rand, McNally & Company, N.Y. Coupon issued at Journal Square. See notes for main text of the front and back. The back has text of Conditions which includes the facsimile signature of Comptroller J.J. Fritsch. The H&M went into bankruptcy in December 1954.

J., station on the date and at the time indicated hereon. It is redeemable for FIVE CENTS if presented to the Company's Agent within THIRTY MINUTES AFTER PASSENGER'S ARRIVAL, by next direct or connecting train, at the Exit at ANY OTHER JERSEY CITY or HOBOKEN station ONLY. FIVE CENTS is retained by this Company as the legal fare for one local ride between any of its stations in JERSEY CITY and, or, HOBOKEN, N. J.
