Sepia-tone photo of steel frame erection and fireproof brick construction of the stage house for the Fabian Theatre, southeast corner of Newark & Washington Sts., Hoboken, March 12, 1928. Two copies, 5" x 7" wide prints. Photographer not known. Reverse is blank.
Numbered and dated in image: C1084-28, 3-12-28. The view is looking northeast from the midblock of Washington St. between Newark St. and Observer Highway. The rear of buildings on Hudson Street can be seen at the center. The brickwork on the stage house and the backstage offices at the right is nearly completed. Erection of the auditorium roof and exterior walls is started at the left including the interior steel work for the balcony.
