Photograph
Sepia-tone group photo of members of the Hoboken Patrolmen's Benevolent Association posed on the front steps of Hoboken City Hall, no date, ca. 1920-30. 36" wide x 26-1/2" high print in matte, not examined out of frame. Photographer not indicated. Information on reverse, if any, not known.
The view is looking west.Members are posed in matching suit jackets, hats and ties. The style of dress suggests that it was taken post-World War I. At the left bottom, the man holding a pennant on a pole is identified with a holographic inscription below him and an arrow drawn to him as Bill Wallace. There is additional inscription on him that is not legible.
For comparison, an image of a September 23, 1915 photo of the same group is shown from the Hoboken Public Library Historical Picture Collection, image no. 441(image here is from a black-and-white negative in the Museum's collections). That photo was taken by R. Magnus.
