"The gentleman second from right with hand propping his waist is my grandfather, R.G. (Richard Griffith) Mathews, owner of R.G. Mathews Trucking Co in Hoboken. Guy, as he was known, was the stepson of Henry Noble Fletcher, VP of W.H. Fletcher Shipyards in Hoboken. In 1937 a fire destroyed the block along Hudson Street where my grandfather's fleet of trucks were housed." Note received via our web form on 17 December 2020 from Laura Griffith Mathews.
