Warning sticker used for parking violations on Shipyard Lane, Hoboken, 2002.
Archive
Warning sticker used for parking violations on Shipyard Lane, Hoboken, October 13, [2002]. Commercially available 5" x 8" self-adhesive printed paper label with a peel-off backing sheet. Backing sheet is printed on its back side for the recording of warning issued by private security personnel.
It was a private street with limited heads-in parking for customers of retail stores in the Applied Companies Shipyard residential development and thus with time-limit restrictions. The sticker was typically applied to the vehicle window. The strong adhesive was of a type that made it impossible to pull off without tearing and leaving residue. Scraping or a removal agent was usually required.
This copy was not peeled and applied, but placed under the windshield wiper.
