See primary record in library catalog, 2005.024.0002. Business, a haberdashery, was established ca. 1888 by Herman Geismar. Note at the left of the photo that there is no building. A building for the Geismar-Meyer Co.(this is the building that has the sidewalk lettering "Geismar's", in front of it) was built on that empty lot and opened on April 7, 1908, thus this photo is from 1907 or earlier. Not credited, but photograph was possibly taken by Ernst F. Walter of Hoboken. See primary record and related.
