Issued by Dorothy Bloodgood, a relative of Cross. No text or caption appears on the card. All titling is from a post-it note attached to the postcard. Enclosed is a newsclipping datelined Hoboken, July 7, of unstated year from an unstated newspaper ("Special Service of the NEWS.") titled: "Policeman Dives Overboard to Rescue Man and Woman." Police officer [patrolman] Cross in full uniform rescued 70-year old Mrs. Lugie Tutterilli of 725 Adams St., Hoboken and a John Franck of Brooklyn from the pierhead area at Fifteenth Street. Both were sent to St. Mary Hospital where the woman was in serious condition.
