Nineteen color photos of collection storage area of the Hoboken Historical Museum, southwest corner, ground floor, building 5, former Maxwell House Coffee plant, Hoboken, ca. April, 2002. 4" x 6" prints. Photographs taken by J. Merle. Reverse of all is blank.
The street address was 1125 Hudson St. The space shown was last used as offices and reception area for the Hoboken Brewing Company. Use of whole ground floor (most of which had been in use by the Brewery for brewing, bottling and inventory storage), ca. 14,000 sq. feet, by the Museum was donated by the then owner, Hoboken Brownstone Company, Daniel Gans, George Vallone. The Museum used the space from ca. 1999 to 2004 for collections (general state of their condition and organization at that point is shown in these images), general storage and its annual benefit auction from 1999 to 2004. In later years, it shared the bulk of the space with other users. Building demolished late summer 2004.
The area is shown shortly after some effort on re-organization of the space was performed and initial cataloging of the collection had started. Image 19 shows the stage and some items in the Museum's auction of that year.
