Troop billet card for U.S.S. Leviathan, U.S. Navy Armed Transport, no date, circa 1917-1919. Printed card stock, 3" high x 4-1/2" wide. Used during World War I when the Leviathan operated out of Hoboken which was the Port of Embarkation and later Port of Debarkation for U.S. Army personnel.
This ticket or pass is printed in blue ink with specific location information printed in red. The red printing indicates that the compartment "ERS-1" is located on "E" deck "Amidship." Bunk is printed as "No. 1559" and is crossed out and inked in as "500." Deck space: "B-Deck port side." Latrines and washroom in compartment: "E-Room Sec. No. 1." Abandon Ship Mustering Station: "No. 4," located: "B-Deck Port Side."
It is unknown to whom this billet belonged, branch of service (probably U.S. Army) or on which trip it was used (east or westbound) of the 19 roundtrips made by the Leviathan for war service.
