Holographic letter signed by Edward J. Bohm, 261 6th St., Hoboken, May 9, 1917. Folio lined paper, ca. 4" x 6"; letter page [1] only with American flag sticker at the top. Digital image only.
Bohm is responding to a call for election officers to serve in registration activities in Hoboken in early World War I. (The organization of a Local Board for Selective Service Act (military draft) activities in Hoboken seems to have started with a circular calling for volunteers.) The correspondent is un-named, but it was possibly Daniel Haggerty, City Clerk, Hoboken. See archives 2008.048.0010 and .0019 for other items of that date that address this more directly.)
