Booklet: The World War. Its Cause, Its Origin and Ultimate Result. The Lusitania Affair. Written by an American who believes in America for Americans. World War Office: 625 Bloomfield St., Hoboken, N.J. Price 10 cents. No date, circa 1916-1917. 6" x 9" high; 32 pp. plus covers.
This anonymous World War One pro-German, anti-British tract has on the inside front cover: [black stamp] Gift Of [penciled script below] Henry H. L. Schulze. See notes on possible identification of this individual.
The address of the issuer is in the middle of residential block where businesses were not usually located.
The researched and documented text is essentially stating that it is in the best interests of America and especially American shipping to stay out of the war. Internal references date this no earlier than very late in 1915 and more likely in 1916. It is presumed that the U.S. entry in the war in April 1917 would have made this argument moot, so it appears to have been issued in the narrow period of 1916 to April 1917.
