Addressed to "Dearest and best beloved", Miller was Moore's fiance. (Florence Miller lived at 716 Garden St., Hoboken, age 27 at this date and Moore lived at 1227 Garden St., Hoboken. He died in ca. April 10, 1919; a June wedding had been scheduled. He had been elected as an Assemblyman from Hudson County in 1916 and 1917.)
Essentially a love letter with a poem of his on the front and on the back a six-line typed quotation (done with a different typewriter) plus a draft poem (in his hand) titled "The Song of the Doughboy" using most of the side with several cross-outs and corrections.
