Butts assigned the property on Jan. 19, 1868 to John M Board, his attorney. An affidavit of April 30, 1870 by the Commissioner of Deeds stated that Board appeared before him; Board was the secretary to the Commissioners to Drain. Note that title of commission varies: "Commissioners of Drainage of the Lowlands..." or "Commissioners for Drainage of the Lowlands..." or as found on seal, "Commissioners to Drain Certain Lowlands..."
