DescriptionGray-weathered wood sign: "For Rent | Inq. 500 Willow Ave." 72" long by 36" high. Single sided. Whitewashed background with black painted block letters with triangular serifs. "For Rent" is 21" tall; lettering below: "Inq. (4.5"h) 500 Willow (8"h) Ave. (4.0"h)." Made of 4 panels of pine wainscoting (unmolded side facing the front) running horizontal with 3 4"w battens on rear. A 1/2" thick x 1.75" wood molding frames the front. There are 3 molding losses: 21" top center left, 36" left vertical edge, 68" from bottom right corner. Original whitewash is gone on molding. No date, but probably ca. 1900. The address was the location of the American Lead Pencil Co. (demolished ca. 1965,now the site of Church Towers).
