W.L.E. Keuffel. 1884 June 16th 1934. Program for his fiftieth anniversary at Keuffel & Esser Company, New York & Hoboken, June 15 or 16, 1934. Single sheet gold paper, 10" x 16" high, crossfolded to 5" x 8" high, [4] pp.
This event was a special celebration for him at the U.S. Theatre, 617-621 Washington St., Hoboken. K&E recognized longtime employees with an organization called 'The Old Guard' which was for 25-year employees; fifty-year employees became the 'Golden Guard' although that name is not used here. (It apparently was first used a few years later.) Keuffel, a distant relative of the founding Keuffel, was being honored here with a full program at this vaudeville and movie theater.
The cover has June 16th and the program on page [3] has June 15. The later date may have been his actual anniversary date; it is not clear.
Photo portrait of Keuffel on cover.
