Sheet metal, double sided, exterior advertising sign cut in the shape of a key.
Object/Artifact
Sheet metal, double sided, exterior advertising sign cut in the shape of a key. A 'homemade' artifact with irregular tool cuts along the edges. Probably from the east side of the 200 block of Clinton Street; cf photo 2006.028.0002 image 08 where it can be seen hanging on a pole near a gas service station
Whitewash finish mostly gone with outlines of where there was once applied lettering on both sides. 33"h x 13w, diameter of the round end which is the top. A 2"diam. 'key chain' hole is cut 3" from the top. Mounting holes: 2 at top, 1 at bottom.
Trace of the word "Keys" across 13" round top end and "Made" stacked vertically along the shaft.
Dimensionally distorted with several creases and dents with an especially severe one near top of the shaft where the metal is partially broken. Some rusted areas.
