Sepia-tone photo of Kirchgessner family members and others aboard the S.S. Konprinz Wilhelm in Hoboken, no date, ca. 1910-1914 (date is not definitive.) Two color photocopies of the partial image, copies 1 and 2; copy 3 is a full image, but pencil notes are on the image plus margin. Two enhanced reference prints made 2010 are on file.
Five members of the family are seen and identified. A detail image with key is attached to this record. As listed below, the relationships are to George Kirchgessner who made the identifications.

Two ship stewards in white jackets are seen at the left. A standing man, another steward (kneeling) plus a seated man and woman with a boy in sailor suit are present. None of this group have been identified.
Left marginal notes on copy 3:
When Olga married stopped working in shop [United Decorating]; Bought house in Ridgefield Park; William was Involved in patterns for clothing.

Ocean liner operated from the American home port of the North German Lloyd Line until World War 1 started in 1914; it was interned here and in 1917 was confiscated and converted to a troop ship.
