Photograph
Sepia-tone photo of the New Jersey Junction Railroad station at west side of Hoboken, Division St. near First Street, 3:30 PM, Dec. 28, 1939.
2-3/4" high x 4-5/8" wide print. Photograph taken by Cameron Blaikie of Englewood, N.J. Captions in ink on front in top and bottom borders; reverse has 3 inkstamps and pencil notes.
View is north towards the former passenger station which was now apparently being used only for freight. (The train station was on the west side of the tracks; it could be reached by traveling down First Street and crossing the tracks to just east of Division Street - a street that was less than a block long. The station was a little south of First and Division Streets.)
The tracks seen were also used by the Erie Railroad for access to its Weehawken yards as well as other small railroad lines. The right-of-way became the location of the present day Hudson-Bergen Light Rail tracks.
