Timetable: Time Schedules. Hoboken and Hudson Terminal, New York. Hudson Tubes; Hudson & Manhattan Railroad. No date, circa 1944-1950.
Printed leaflet, 7-1/4" high x 8-1/8" wide folded to 2-5/16" wide.
An uncommon published schedule for this subway. This was one of several routes operated by them. Promotion of the running times and a schedule was important to help raise ridership and revenue as the railroad was in financial distress from World War II onward. (Note: Hudson Terminal was the site of the later World Trade Center and the H&M became PATH in 1962.)
While undated, advertisements provide some guidance for a probable date range. A bank ad for Provident Institution for Savings offers GI Home Loans which places this between 1944 and 1956. Another ad for audio equipment for "your home and studio" does not mention televisions which would have been typically offered by the late 1940s for most places that sold electronics.
