Printed cardstock, 2-1/8" high x 3-1/4" wide. Remains of paper hinges on rear from album mount. Imprinted security stripes on front; printer was Rand McNally & Co., New York.
Per donor: formerly George Schroder Collection.
This ticket represents travel by a passenger whose trip apparently did not include riding a Lackawanna train. This ferry service operated by the railroad was to New York from Hoboken and back. A ferry ride was included in rail tickets sold for travel to or from New York as Hoboken was the eastern terminus for Lackawanna trains and to travel the last leg required using the ferry.
Many local residents would have typically used the ferry.
W.H. Dominick, Passenger Travel Manager: he served in this role for the railroad which included the ferry operations.
