Annette E. Illing (May 3, 1945 - April 10, 2008) was a lifelong resident of Hoboken and a beloved community activist. This memorial garden was dedicated on July 9, 2010 with a temporary plaque and the planting of the tree seen behind the permanent plaque placed later, a bronze tablet mounted on a beveled granite base. A paved entry path leads to the area with the plaque and two wood garden benches (originally planned to be stone.)
