The men are in the rigger's loft of the Erie Railroad Marine Division repair yard in Jersey City, N.J., no date, ca. 1950. Note that they use a hoist to maneuver this large piece. Cf.photo catalog 2003.049.0004 for an uncropped print of the image used for this postcard. A bow fender in use on a tugboat can be seen in photo catalog 2003.049.0003.
