Seat check, three, Erie Lackawanna Railway, no place (Hoboken), no date, circa 1968-1976. Printed cardstock, 1" high x 3-1/2" wide; three examples in different colors: green, gray, light blue. Color is on front only; back is a plain cream color.
Typically issued by a train conductor after collecting a ticket or fare aboard the train to indicate that the passenger had was accounted. Different colors may have been used to indicate the station the traveler had paid for. Checks are usually collected by the conductor as the passenger's station was approached.
Erie Lackawanna Railway existed from 1968-1976 and the eastern terminus for the rail portion of travel was Hoboken.
