8" x 10" wide prints. Photographs taken by R. Magnus (credit emboss at lower right.) Reverse of both are blank. Print 1 has modern (ballpoint) ink notations in lower border and giving a date of 1933. (The photos are not otherwise dated.)

Observer Highway was called Ferry Street at that time. This photo is not view of the full length of the block, but goes south from numbers 68-70. In the distance are the elevated tracks over Ferry Street for Public Service Coordinated Transport streetcars that went to the upper level of its terminal on Hudson Place.
Building at the right, 68-70 Hudson St., was also known the Hoboken Terminal Building. The Heidelberg Restaurant is seen. A sign for the Eagan Business School is south ot (its building was recessed from the sidewalk.) Beyond it is the German Seamen's Institute. The opening between it and the next building (a two-story garage) is the streetcar right-of-way between Hudson and Washington Streets (seen in photo 2.)
