Commemorative reprint of The Jersey Journal, Tunnel Edition of Dec. 22, 1937, by Port Authority of New York and New Jersey on 50th Anniversary of the Lincoln Tunnel. Bound volume with 24-page reduced size facsimile reprint newspaper, 12" x 18" high. Maroon cloth binding with; gilt stamped title on front board. Cream text paper with color fibers; not newsprint. PDF on file; large tiffs media archive.
This 1937 special section was reprinted by PANYNJ as a souvenir; header on page 1 and their tag at the bottom of the page being the only notice. An unbound version of this was issued to motorists at toll booths (and likely other locations) on the fiftieth anniversary of the opening of the tunnel's first tube.
While contents focuses on the Lincoln Tunnel, it includes articles on the history of methods of crossing the Hudson River (including railroad tunnels - Pennsylvania Railroad and Hudson & Manhattan Railroad) plus other Port Authority bridges and tunnels including the George Washington Bridge, Holland Tunnel, Goethals Bridge, Outerbridge Crossing and Bayonne Bridge.
