Seven typewritten recipes for ice cream or candy from
Schnackenberg's Luncheonette, 1110 Washington St., Hoboken, no date, circa 1940s-1950s. Single leaves, 6-1/2" x 9"
Digital images only; tiffs media archive; original items are held by Schnackenberg's Luncheonette, Hoboken.
Henry Schnackenberg, the founder (in 1931) and proprietor of the business, made ice cream, chocolate candy (filled and molded) plus other types of candies such as hard, taffy, etc. All were made in the basement of the restaurant. While he may not have typed these himself (his daughters may have done it), they would have been his formulas for routine production. See notes.
The numbering here is an arbitrary listing:
1: simple syrup
2: walnut [ice cream]
3: chocolate [ice cream]
4: coffee [ice cream]
5: chocolate syrup
6: vanilla [ice cream]
7: peppermint canes
The originals are in possession of the current operators of the Luncheonette; condition is very poor.
