Photographic album, cover titled: Niagara Falls. Ocean Grove June 1928. (Items dated 1927 to 1932.)
A souvenir album used by an unknown family as a travel album for collecting snapshots taken on trips or visits. See bottom for further description.
Only one image has a Hoboken scene. Photograph (no. 3) captioned "Hoboken 1928" shows a well-dressed young woman standing on Hudson Street near Fifth Street with the Stevens Hall (Edwin A. Stevens Hall or 'A' building) of Stevens Institute of Technology in the background. The view is northeast. Note that the Holland America Lines Fifth Street Pier was only a block away. So the woman (and her fiance or husband who is presumed to have taken the photo) may have been in Hoboken as part of travel to or from Europe.

Album description and detail:
Color printed leather covers with Niagara Falls vignette on front cover; two prong binding; oblong 5-1/4" high x 8" wide. Black paper, 23 leaves with 44 photographs mounted with photo corners on 18 leaves; two unmounted photos laid-in; total of 46 amateur snapshot images. A 1930 Danish postage stamp was found inserted behind photo 43.
Photos are sepia-tone black-and-white, with a modest amount of hand-colored tints added to four (nos. 33-35, 39.) Numbers not found on pages, but are the images in sequence found. As scanned, images have been enhanced for possible identification of individuals.
The creator and owner of the album is not indicated. The progression of images by date suggests a courtship or engagement, honeymoon, family trip and lastly a family with a baby present. While it does have photos of Niagara Falls (honeymoon for the couple seen?) and Ocean Grove, it also included Prospect Park, Brooklyn, as well several apparently European locations, both urban and rural, possibly Denmark, along with the one taken in Hoboken, New Jersey.
When the back of any of the photos was inscribed, the information was imaged. Text was in Danish(?) and not transcribed or translated. (The reverse is not imaged when it only had a photo processer's ink stamp batch number.) A few leaves have white ink describing the location and/or date. Some near the end have marginal ink incriptions.
