DescriptionColor photographs, two, of Washington Street parade in 500 block, Hoboken, no date, circa 1965-1975. 3-1/2" square prints. Photographs by Donald "Red" Barrett. Reverse of all are blank. Images enhanced due to color shift and yellowing. Dating of these images is not definitive and they may be as early the late 1960s. All views are from midblock looking southwest on Washington Street between Fifth and Sixth Streets. Businesses and building on the west side of the street are seen. Purpose of parade or event is not indicated or known. Cool weather as seen by clothing; no rain. Photo 1: a marching unit in very fancy costumes (Mummer style costumes, but affliliation not indicated.) Photo 2: chimpanzee on bicycle with trainer; both wear matching red jackets and ties.
