Map: Erie Lackawanna Railway Company. System Map of the Friendly Service Route. Issued April 1974. Single sheet, 20" high x 33" wide folded to 10" high x 4-1/8" wide; printed on side only. A map showing the freight service area, principal connections and locations of piggyback ramp service. Except for suburban passenger service that operated from Lackawanna Terminal in Hoboken, the railroad no longer had any passenger service - all long distance trains had been discontinued. It was now primarily a freight railroad and the service area was considerably reduced from its peak. Hoboken is the location of one of the two listed regional offices for this service. It was at 111 Newark St. Hoboken is shown on the large map and the detail map at the lower right.There is also a list of Traffic Sales and Service Offices. New York freight yard was in Jersey City and included an Auto Ramp which is shown in the right bottom photo. This photo can be placed as one of the Holland Tunnel ventilation buildings is seen.
