V.J. Day was "Victory over Japan." The donor, Stephen Earl, noted that the photo was taken by Jack Smith, a Hoboken fireman, who was later his father-in-law. He says these were all the children living in the Terrace at the time.
None of the children are identified. One child's head is circled in ink. Whether this is Stephan Earl is not indicated.
