Sepia-tone 8" x 10" group photo of Red Cross volunteers giving toys to Russian refugee children on their way home, Hoboken?, 1920. This image, slightly cropped, was published in the N.Y. Daily News, Monday, Aug. 10, 1920, The blind rule crop marks can be easily seen. The reverse has a clip of the published caption pasted on it as well as the photographers credit stamp. A date stamp of August 30, 1920 is present. The print is in very poor condition,:brittle, soiled, creased, torn and cracked.
None of the people are identified, but the woman at the right is probably Mary Markey (Mary Henry Markey, mother of Florence & Madeline Miller.) See archive catalog 2002.186.0011 for the newspaper clipping with the published photo.
