Consists of letters to the editor of the local newspaper, The Hoboken Reporter, from 1983 to 1987 regarding several aspects of the changing and conflicted city that it reported on. Barry was the founder (1983) and publisher of the newspaper; Derevlany had been the editor in 1986-1987. Barry was also an important Hoboken real estate developer (Applied Company) and wrote a column for the weekly.
The letters are organized into several topics as listed in the table of contents. The introduction states that they are generally in chronological order. Not indexed. Biographies of the editors and photographer are on pages [182-183.]
