Notes: The Hudson and Manhattan Railroad inaugurated its first service on February 23, 1908 from Hoboken to 19th St. in New York. (Additional uptown service: 23rd St. started in June 1908; 33rd St, the uptown terminal, opened in November 1910.) The train trip commemorated in this photo was to the downtown terminal in New York at Church Street (also listed as Cordlandt Street) which became Hudson Terminal (erected by the Hudson & Manhattan over the downtown terminal and then the largest office building in New York City and later a major portion of the site of the World Trade Center.) Regular train service to downtown actually started on July 19, 1909. ---- McAdoo was Secretary of the Treasury from 1913-1918. He married Eleanor Randolph Wilson, daughter of President Woodrow Wilson, on May 7, 1914 at the White House. Original or Copy: Original Status: OK Status By: dw Status Date: 2014-08-09
