Private mailing card / postal card: W. Brandes Lloyd Hall. Hoboken, N.J. Postmarked Hoboken March 2, 1905. Printed postcard, 3-5/16" x 5-1/2" wide.
Text in german, untranslated. The front features an exterior and interior view of W. [Wilhelm or William] Brandes' saloon at 226 River St. called W. Brandes Lloyd Hall. A vignette photo portrait of Brandes is next to the exterior view that has bunting on the building. The street name of the bar is not printed on the item, but it was written at the front left edge. (Also address established from a 1906 Boyd's Directory.)
The caption under the upper right photo of the bar is titled: Gruss aus America! Hoboken N.J. 1901. (This suggests the date that this card was created since private mailing cards were allowable for use from 1898-1901, but apparently it could still be posted.) Bunting is also seen here.
A depiction of the North German Lloyd Line (NGL) insignia flag is at the upper right which apparently lends the name "Lloyd" to the hall. (The street location was across the street from the NGL piers.)
