A significant year for the school as it's first as the Stevens Hoboken (or as later hypenated, Stevens-Hoboken) Academy. It was the merger of Hoboken Academy and Stevens School into one at the home building of the Hoboken Academy at Fifth Street and Willow Ave. The Stevens School had previously been at Sixth Street and Park Avenue in what was locally known as the Martha Institute. This merger is mentioned. This copy belonged to an Osmer Gorton as stated by the donor; it was found in his former family home in Westwood, N.J. Curiously Gorton was a Senior and mentioned several times (Humor Editor, star of the school play and in the Class History), but he does not appear in the list of graduates (neither photo or text) or the Senior Directory on page 28.
