Watercolor rendering of Plant Extension including Piers and Dry-Docks, Tietjen & Lang Dry-Dock Co., Hoboken, N.J. Designed by Frederic R. Harris, 27 William St., N.Y.C. Date is probably 1942 (signed at lower right corner by artist: P.E.B. '42; full name of artist not known.) In original matte and frame without glass. Media: watercolor, goache and ink on watercolor board.
An artist's aerial view looking west - northwest from the Hudson River of the docks, buildings, roads and railroads along with the new buildings for the area. It was at the very northern end of Hoboken's waterfront with Hoboken-Weehawken city line actually running through the it. Tietjen & Lang was a subsidiary of the Todd Shipyards Corporation.The railroad tracks at the upper left go to the Erie Railroad docks in Weehawken now the site of Lincoln Harbor. At the very top is Park Avenue with a bridge over the tracks. At the lower left center, the artist has placed an airplane shadow over the long pier.

Matted with 30" wide x 19-3/4" window. Matte is darkened and brittle. Wood frame overall size: 39-5/8" wide x 30-3/8" high.
