The woman at the left apparently serving a fire chief is Mary H. Markey (Mrs. Frank P. Markey) also known as Mary Henry Miller, the mother of Florence and Madeline Miller. Note the distinctive hats of the volunteers (The cap she is wearing is objects catalog 2001.025.0090).
In the background is what appears to be Hoboken Ladder Truck Co. No. 1.
