This building was nearly cleared out prior to a pending real estate sale (it was sold and a gut rehabilitation went forward to create a modern residential building.) It had been in the Kostelecky family for nearly 130 years. The original business was as a carriage and wagon maker for horse-drawn transporation (Joseph Kostelecky - see library 2005.001.0005 - City Animals, page 28) and evolved to serve the automobiles that followed. It was in business use for nearly a century.
Some of the equipment and tools still present were relics from the early days of making wood parts for carriages and wagon wheels as well a forge for the many metal parts required in that trade.
