Object/Artifact
Monkey Stick sign from Magic Fountain, a former ice cream and video rental shop at the northeast corner of Third and Bloomfield Streets, Hoboken, created 1970’s-1980’s. Painted aluminum, 24" square. Used until business closed in Hoboken, ca. 2001-2002.
Monkey Stick seemed to be the name for a chocolate dipped banana. The distinctive red gambrel roofed building that this business was located in was sold and demolished in 2003. It is now the site of the new Stevens Cooperative School.
