Refund coupon: Hudson & Manhattan Railroad, New Jersey 1 cent coupon. Oct. 29 or 30, no year (1927-1930.) Not strictly a transportation ticket, but used in conjunction with a purchased fare. Six cents is the fare stated on the back which dates this not earlier than 1927 when this became the downtown fare. Back lists Oren Root as President; his resignation from that position took effect Sept. 1, 1930, making his coupon not later than that year. Printed (red and black) paper, two sides, 2-3/8" x 6-3/4" wide; punched as used, but no validation stamp that indicated that the refund was given. Serial number La. 689754.
